Halloween Parade
The parade was longer then ever with new busnesses adding candy to our route. Their are not many towns in the US where an entire elementary can go walking down its streets. Thanks to everyone who made it possible.

Dear Parents,
You won’t believe what we did today. We went parachuting. Just joking, but know that we have your attention your about to find out what we did this week. First of all we have continued learning about our different Native American tribes. Today we built our shelters. We had tipi, igloos, long house, hogan, and an adobe house. Our class got to make our own trick or treat baskets by sewing just like our tribes would have. Everyone in our class also made masks and dressed up like their tribe. We are still working on our research and writing for this project. Another thing we did this week is math. In math we reviewed how to read a thermometer and learned more about fractions. Yesterday we had another test.As you can see we have had a great time parachuting, er I mean, learning.
Sincerely,
Your Native American

Parent Letter

Dear Parents,
Do you know we went to Hawaii this week! Just kidding! We have been having a blast at school this week. First we have finished our insect slides. Our class has found there are three different parts of an insect. Each group made a slide show about the head, thorax, and abdomen. Did you know these parts can come in all shapes and sizes? Some insects can even have gills on the abdomen Another reason school has been a blast is because we have been learning about conjunction words. A few of the conjunction words are or, and, but, then, and because. Conjunctions can join to thoughts together to make a longer sentence. Here is an example. Ethan went to football one day and scored a touchdown. Even though we didn’t go to Hawaii we still had a excellent time at school.
Sincerely,
Your Entomologist

Halloween Party
The party will be themed once again around Native American tribes. Each student will be studying a specific native tribe and creating a presentation which deals with the tribes culture. At the party I hope to have each student bring a food made by the tribe. I also request each student is dressed in traditional clothing. Some very interesting costumes are those that have to do with Native tribe ceremonies. In art they will begin creating their costume by making plaster masks. I look forward to another fun, educational, Halloween!
Weather Station
Our class is in charge of a new weather station placed on the court house. It has up to date weather for the town of Waterville and transmits the readings into our classroom and then onto the net. Follow the weather station link on the side of our blog to check our station out or go to www.undergroundweather.com. Our stations name is kwawater3.
Writing Progress
Students now have finished learning how to organize a paragraph. Now, they will begin to learn about sentence fluency and revisit conventions. Students will use their new knowledge to edit their draft paragraph.
New Music
Check out our first top ten single found under the link "Our Music". The songs title is Calendar Song.
